After all, under the guidance of the show\u2019s ace team of doctors and<br \/>\nphysical trainers, \u00a0many contestants lose more than 100 pounds in eight months \u2014 without surgery. Even more impressive, is that some of \u00a0those people did it at home with no help from super trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels, so they must be doing something right. If dropping a few is on your list of New Year\u2019sresolutions, consider the following:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eat five or six small meals a day \/<br \/>\nAmy Hildreth, lost 106 pounds-<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Most of the BL3 dieters eat six or seven 300-calorie small meals each day because, as Hildreth learned, \u201cYou have to eat to lose.\u201d \u201cThat was something that\u00a0I never quite wrapped my head around before,\u201d she says. \u201cI thought\u00a0when you\u2019re hungry that means you\u2019re losing weight. But that\u2019s not the case. You need to keep your body fueled to continually lose and to have the energy to work out and perpetuate the cycle.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>K<strong>eep count \/ Jaron Tate, lost 160<br \/>\npounds-<\/strong> \u201cKnow how many calories your body needs and how many calories you\u2019re<br \/>\nactually stuffing into your mouth,\u201d says Tate, who now eats 1,800 to 2,000 calories per day. \u201cA quarter-pounder with cheese is 850 calories. A large apple [which weighs about the same] is 100. And if you\u2019re having a salad, put salsa on it instead of ranch.\u201d Two tablespoons of ranch dressing:<br \/>\n220 calories. Salsa: 20.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ginnie Borque, lost 114 pounds-<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI do a lot of little things,\u201d says Borque, one of the 36 Biggest Loser at Home dieters. \u201cI don\u2019t like coffee without sugar and cream, so I switched to tea.
